Did you remember the New Year's Reading Resolution Giveaway Hop is Jan. 3-9 2011. Have you signed up yet? Well, I hope so! But if not you better head over
here and sign up!
I'm very excited, and can't wait! But while I'm waiting I thought I'd lay out some reading resolutions for myself. I know that I read quite a few books this year (at 132 as I type this) but I sure didn't get everything read that I would have liked to. I thought maybe if I actually did a post with my resolutions I could come back to it and see how well I'm doing.
I have some books on my shelves that I *really* need to get read. These are *some* of them:
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke (This has been on my shelf for YEARS. Every year I say I'm going to read it but haven't yet.)
I have several historical fiction books I need to dig out and add to this list.
Then I have some series that I just never seem to get back to. It's not that I don't want to read them, I just can't seem to fit them in! So I want to read at least two more from each of the following series:
The Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward
Meredith Gentry by Laurell K. Hamilton
Anita Blake by Laurell K. Hamilton
Fyne Witches by Linda Winstead Jones
Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer
And I want to start at least at least four of these adult series I have on my shelf:
Riley Jensen by Keri Arthur
Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs
Allie Beckstrom by Devon Monk
Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews
Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
The Sundering by Jacqueline Carey
Georgina Kincaid by Richelle Mead
Jill Kismet by Lilith Saintcrow
Broken Heart Vampires by Michele Bardsley
Demon Hunting Soccer Mom series by Julie Kenner
And read at least the first in each of these YA series (books I've had FOREVER):
Mediator series by Meg Cabot
The Immortals by Alyson Noel
Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz (read the first one but will have to reread, I can't remember it)
The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
Harry Potter (but I want to read at least most of the series)
I have
65 YA books on my shelf to read that most of which will have sequels coming out in 2011. I'm not going to list them all here but I hope to get them all read in 2011.
My reading plans for each month:
1. Read at least one Indie book a month.
2. Read 8 books a month from series I've started or have been on my shelves for over a year.
Buying Resolution:
Stop buying books! Yeah right. Like it's that easy. With books in series I'm obsessed with coming out, and all the amazing YA these days, NOT buying books is impossible. I really need to work on a plan that will work for me. Like read 10 books before I can buy another. Not sure if that will work but I'll brainstorm this one more. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Want to do your own Reading Resolution List? Go for it! I'd appreciate it if you add the button and let people know about the Giveaway hop, but it's not a biggie :) Feel free to leave me a link so I can check you out!
