Want to be IN a book? Here's your chance!

HP Mallory, author of Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble as well as To Kill a Warlock is looking for a person to be a character in her next book, Toil and Trouble to be released Jan. 2011.  She says that this is an integral part that will continue through the series, so you'll be in several books!  The winner will also get the book before everyone else as well as her other two books, in paperback!  If you haven't heard of her books, she writes adult Urban Fantasy.  I am also currently giving away each of her books in ebook form (to end the 15th).  Look at the top of my blog under contests.  If it's still running it'll be up there!  So you want to learn more and enter?  Head over to her blog and enter here! 

Announcement of coming up GIVEAWAY!

I've been doing some planning around here... and some great giveaways are on their way!  Some won't come until later and I'm not quite ready to make the announcement of them.  But I DO have some Halloween and monthly giveaways planned with Nancy from Southwest Sky Jewelery.  She is this AWESOME lady with an etsy shop where she sells some amazing stuff.  One thing she makes is tiny book charms.  Like this:

Now Nancy has some big plans.  She's making some that go with each month.  Like for Halloween she has the old covers of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Edgar Allen Poe.  And guess what?  She's going to give away a set on my blog each month!  Well, at least for the next few months, through this year, and possibly longer!  She's making the Halloween ones and will hopefully have them done on Sunday when she can get me pictures.  Then the giveaway will go up so it can end before Halloween!  Now, isn't that awesome?!  I'm pretty excited.  Now do you need ideas of what to do with these charms?  Well, the possibilities are endless.  You can string them on a chain or ribbon for a necklace, you can make bookmarks, you can use them as zipper pulls or put them on your child's backpack, the possibilities are endless!

Nancy can make custom ones if you have a request.  One thing that is an issue is copyright.  So she'll be only making those that are public domain, and are published before 1923.  Of course if an author requests or gives permission then she can make theirs.  It would be cool to have them as some of our favorite more recent books, those dang laws!  But that's the way it is!  If you have a request though be sure to check out her site then send her a message via twitter, etsy or her blog! 

Now, she makes loads of other items as well so be sure to look through all her stuff.  I really love her variety of items.  They vary in price as well and there's something for everyone.  Here's a few of my favorites:
